Controller / Totalizer

One type of device you may encounter is a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). PLCs are used to control industrial processes and machines and are capable of performing complex control functions using a program written in a specialized language.

Another type of device you may encounter is a Paperless Universal Input Recorder. This device records data from various inputs, such as temperature, pressure, and flow, and displays that data on a digital display. It is in contrast to traditional paper-based recording methods, which can be time-consuming and prone to errors.

Temperature controllers are also a part of this category. These devices regulate the temperature of a process or machine, for example, an oven or a heating element. They work by measuring the temperature and comparing it to a set point. If the temperature deviates from the set point, the controller will adjust the heating or cooling to bring the temperature back to the set point.

Single Loop PID Controllers are temperature controller that uses a PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) control algorithm to regulate the temperature. They are called “single loop” controllers because they only control one process variable, such as temperature.

Finally, there are flow totalizers. These devices measure the total flow of a fluid, such as water or air, through a pipe or duct. They can be used to monitor the amount of fluid used in a process or to measure the flow rate for billing purposes.
